Bitcoin price breaks to new all-time high above $69,000

Bitcoin has just broken to a new all-time high as price raced past the $69,000 level. On Tuesday, the price of the benchmark cryptocurrency rose past $69k, entering price discovery mode.

BTC traded at $69,322 on Coinbase. Crypto markets are wild following the feat. 

Bitcoin price has jumped more than 200% in the past year and nearly 350% since it broke down to lows of $15k in 2022. 

Bitcoin may continue upwards pre-halving as bulls target extended dominace past $70k.

Bitcoin Tumbles to $92k as Geopolitical Headwinds Roil Markets

Bitcoin fell 4.72% over the weekend and another 3.50% during Monday’s Asian session as tensions driven by Trump’s tariffs have investors derisking their positions. Over the weekend, China responded to Trump’s tariffs by indicating interest in imposing tariffs on US goods, while Canada imposed a 25% tariff on CA$155 billion worth of US goods. Bitcoin tumbled below $100,000 over the weekend, extending losses into today as threats of a possible trade war rock markets worldwide. While most of Bitcoin’s price decline came this weekend, weakness began when its price failed to swing higher than the $108,000 level two weeks ago (Jan. 20). Coinbase receives a Wells notice from the U.S. SEC

U.S. SEC issued a Wells notice to Coinbase on Wednesday. Coinbase chief legal officer Paul Grewal’s remarks in response. Coinbase stock slipped more than 10% in extended hours. Coinbase Global Inc (NASDAQ: COIN) is trading over 10% down in extended hours after receiving a “Wells notice” from the SEC for potentially violating U.S. securities laws. Here’s what we know so far Remember that such a notice often signals the agency’s intent to formally press charges. Still, Coinbase says the Wells notice does not provide enough information on potential violations and so it will stick to regular operations for now.
